The Paradox of Life

September 30, 2007

I have been attending 12 step meetings recently and have decided to see what those steps will bring me in my life. This group says to be willing and open minded to a spiritual perspective.

From my interpretation the 12 steps are derived from a biblical sense. I could not tell you exactly where you could find them in the bible but my very strong guess would be in the 12 epistles of Paul.

When I sit in the meetings of this 12 step program I notice how everyone together can bring together a strong sense of unconditional love.

From literature of this program they say that we should put trust in “God as we understood him.”

well I am currently working on the first step which is along the lines of admitting powerlessness and accepting that my life has become unmanageable. My delema is that within the literature it shows you how to work the steps. When I seem to read the excerpt from this litature about step 1 I seem to be that I cannot comprehand it.

When I seem to look at what God is it to me is sort of like a fairy tale ending as odd as that might be. If I were to say I have a strong feeling about what God looks like all I have to put in front of my face is the cross. God as God may never truely be understood in a way that we on earth can comprehend it. However Jesus said “When you have seen me you have seen the Father.”

In my life I am always moving in the sense of I never feel I get times of peace. I have lived in certain places, areas, and times where there was absolutely no one I could talk to. It was complete isolation. At some of these times I had been questioning things about Jesus Christ. However, I told God in my prayers that no matter what happens I will always know that you are there to listen to me and guide me through life. I told the Lord I will always keep you in my heart. I know for those times where I seem to feel something negitive about Jesus I can straightly pray to him.  I can admit to is that Jesus Christ IS still alive and he is a miraculous and powerful healer.

Some might feel that prayers go unanswered. We usually tend to think this when we are in a spot we cannot overcome ourselfs and it seems that God is not listening. Jesus said “My Father is always working” so I know in times where I feel in doubt I can remeber that it may not be instant but it is already in the process.

I do believe in the Holy Spirit/Holy Ghost. I found my clarity about the Holy Spirit in the Book of Acts. Jesus said that he has sent a counselor in his place to do his work. Some might misinterpret the Holy Spirit in a way that they can use to scare people. However, if your looking for clarity on this matter in Acts Chapter 2 it talks about the hour of Pentecost.  If you pray and ask guidance from God about what the Holy Spirit is he will show you face to face in His Word.

However the best way we can get to know the Holy Spirit is just accept it as which the bible speaks of.

Some say that the Holy Spirit is the wind. Some say it is a power. I can attest however, that when the Holy Spirit comes to you YOU WILL FEEL IT. You will feel like something you have never felt before in your entire life and there is no possible way to explain it.

In conclusion as I read the book of Revelations; God says he is “The Alpha and the Omega.” I agree with some that it means God is the Beginning and the End. If you were to draw on a piece of paper: past, present, future (not in a psychic sense) and then right above those 3 things write the word “Eternity” and draw lines from past, present, and future to Eternity. You might be suprised what you might see.

Christian’s need to be more discerning

April 19, 2007

I myself am Christian just to start out with. I am a firm believer that religion should not be forced on people to adapt to. God gave us freewill so it is our choice. I myself like I said am a Pentecostal Christian. When you try to force religion on people it makes more sarrow in that person and makes them think distant from what was trying to be told to them. It is always good to keep asking questions about what life or God is. In closing the Bible also says love your enemies, because it is their biggest weakness.
